Professional Development Portfolio Project Expectations and Benefits


What are participants expected to do?
As a participant you are expected to:

  • attend meetings;
  • collaborate with colleagues;
  • participate in activities;
  • focus on technology to support student learning and your own learning;
  • address standards;
  • reflect on student learning and your own professional growth;
  • set goals, develop strategies, and document the process and attainment of goals;
  • have fun exploring technologies and learning; and
  • create and submit a portfolio that documents student learning and your professional growth.

Are there any benefits for participants?
As a participant you will have the opportunity to:
  • share successes and concerns with colleagues;
  • share and receive tips, ideas, strategies, and advice from others;
  • have time to explore technology uses;
  • receive anytime, "just-in-time" technology and/or instructional coaching;
  • get a "jump start" on the new teacher certification process by learning how to design and develop a professional portfolio that helps you as a educator;
  • have the option to register for 3 hours of graduate credit from IUSB;
  • receive professional books, articles, and links to online resources; and
  • receive $300 of technology hardware or software after you submit your portfolio.
