Support & Resources for Implementation
> Group Meetings > Resources
Hyperlearning by Wilhelm & Friedemann (Stenhouse, 1998) is and excellent overview of multimedia and how it supports student learning. Written by classroom teachers, it gives a practical approach beginning with very short, simple projects then gradually increasing projects in size and complexity. This book is available from Amazon.com and BarnesandNobel.com. How Teachers Learn Technology Best by Jamie McKenzie (FNO Press, 1999) focuses on how to support teachers' use of technology. However, the key ideas in Chapter 2, "Learning Digitally," and Chapter 3, "Strategic Teaching," are relevant for student learning as well. See the FNO website. The Understanding by Design Handbook (ASCD, 1999) was used for several activities above. There are many other activities that could be designed around the content of this book, available through ASCD Online. |
